Something that kept happening to me is I would read a book and then I would think, oh, I really like books!

Then I watched a horror movie, but this time I thought, oh, I really like blood splatters!

So now I write books about blood splatters (and other stuff).

I’m Dean, an author (and bookseller)! I’m Texas born and raised and you can tell it by the way I talk. I’m a lover of horror and also every specific type of horror. As of now, I am known for my short stories, but I’m editing my first novel. I explore themes of identity and change in my work.

Besides books and blood splatters, I like roadtripping, moshing, and Dungeons and Dragons. If you’re ever somewhere in Austin and you think, “Wow, there’s a lot of 5’6” people with dyed hair here,” I’m one of them except that I’m actually 5’5.75”. I’m still down to talk though.
